Teachers write lesson plans independently and purposefully plan activities based upon the developmental needs of their particular group of children. These plans encompass development of the whole child in the following areas:
- Creative and self-expression
- Fine motor
- Gross motor
- Language & Literacy
- Music & Movement
Lesson plans are updated each week and are posted on the Parent Board next to your child’s classroom.
Our themes have been developed to achieve desired outcomes for particular age groups, as well as address topics to which we believe the children should be exposed. Themes are often science and social studies based (e.g. friendship & empathy, seasonal changes).
Holidays, Customs, and Traditions
We believe that learning about various holidays, customs, and traditions provides children opportunities to learn about the world around them. It also gives children a chance to discuss how we are alike and how we are different. We discuss many holidays throughout the year, but if there is a special holiday or tradition in your home that you’d like to share with your child’s class, please let us know.
