Classroom Staff

Our nurturing Staff consists of well-trained and certified early childhood educators who work as Teachers or Directors and Assistant Teachers and Aides, who are either studying for teacher credentialing or have substantial experience with young children.

In addition to our regular classroom staff, and administrators the School has two (2) full-time teachers who are not assigned to specific classes. They substitute for, or assist teachers on an as-needed basis.

Our faculty, curricula, daily program, and teacher/child ratios all meet or exceed the standards required for:

  • Licensing as a Private Academic School for Nursery and Kindergarten Education by the Pennsylvania State Department of Education, Board of Private Academic Schools.
  • Licensing by the Department of Public Welfare as a Child Care Center.
  • Accreditation by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).

Administrative Staff

Our Executive Director:

Eileen Hanley-Meline has a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and has completed all course work and examinations for a Doctorate in the field. In addition to her experience as a mother and school/daycare administrator, she trained early childhood professionals for more than twenty years in college and State Department of Education positions. Since 1990 she has been the full-time Executive Director at the Bala Cynwyd School for Young Children. She has created our state-of-the-art curriculum and provides daily staff and program supervision plus ongoing staff development.

Our Associate Directors:

The School has three (3) Associate Directors who are not assigned to specific classrooms. This enables them to provide constant supervision of the Staff and assistance in the classroom, as needed; to ensure that the Programs are meeting or exceeding all established standards and goals.

Our Business Administrator:

Ed Meline, M.B.A., oversees the financial details that help the School run smoothly, as well as enrollment and facility management.

Our Office Manager:

The School has a full-time Office Manager who is responsible for daily administrative activities and is fully trained to be in the classrooms, as necessary.
